Thirty Four Chophouse
A chophouse with a lounge out back.
The 34 is for Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th President, born a few blocks from here in 1890. The chophouse sits in a red-brick corner building on Main Street in historic downtown Denison. Up front is the dining room: white tablecloths, a short list of steaks cut and seared the classic way, and a wine list that runs from Lodi to Napa’s cult cabernets.
Walk through to the back and the lights go down. Doc’s Lounge is our bourbon bar — a wall of Texas whiskey, allocated bottles and old favorites, craft cocktails, happy hour six nights a week and live music Thursday through Saturday.
Steaks & chops
Cowboy ribeye, filet, NY strip, porterhouse and a double-bone pork chop, finished with shallots, demi-glace and rosemary.

The Steaks
Cowboy ribeye, filet, NY strip, porterhouse — seared hard, with grilled shallots, demi-glace and rosemary.
Double Barrel Duroc Pork Chop
BBQ-rubbed double-bone chop, tasso ham cream and candied Brussels sprouts.
Shrimp & Grits
Blackened shrimp, heirloom cheddar grits, tasso ham cream sauce.
Grilled Lamb Lollipops
Australian lamb, pastrami rub, mint chimichurri, corn purée.
Old Fashioned
34 liquid-gold bourbon infusion, bitters, Luxardo cherry, orange twist.
34 Pot Roast
Red wine–braised Wagyu short rib over garlic whipped potatoes — our nod to Denison-born President Eisenhower, whose favorite dish was pot roast.

Doc’s Lounge
Behind the dining room, under lower light: a bourbon bar built around Texas whiskey, allocated bottles and the classics, with cocktails to match. Happy hour runs Sunday through Friday, 4 to 6 PM, and there’s live music Thursday through Saturday.
